about

I first met Kim geun-young in September, 2016.
I was invited as a researcher (new media and sound art) in a "HK-Korea Dance Research Week". In a week of workshops, I was deeply moved by Kim's subtle body-movements adapted from traditional Korean dance. After watching her solo performance by the end of the week, i was impressed by her choreography which embraces a strong repressive feminine passion. On my way home, I sketch the track "dance of kim geun-young"(10) with my ipad. Three months later, I fly to Busan to visit geun-young and met her master Shin Eunju. Shin has developed her own style of contemporary choreography from classical Korean choreography, poetry and philosophy as well as the "breath"of nature from the Busan natural landscape and my visit to her dance company was so inspiring. The tracks presented here are impression from my trip.

This is the second album on my "electro-ripple-music" series.
I adopt a technique of rippletronic (obviously homage to Robert Fripp) which resemble the action of dropping pebbles on a still water surface...
the result is a series of "ripples" that modulate each others into a texture that reminds us of the French Impressionism ...
